▷ Behind the Lyttleton Stage after OMTG
Was lucky enough to be given a behind the scenes tour from James Corden, playing Francis Henshall, himself last night, and even got to stand on the stage with him!
Bit of a walk from the Stage Door to the doors to the Lyttleton Theatre.
All the props are lay on a table right next to the stage, money, business cards, hats etc.
There are also two trap doors on the stage. (For stairs, and for a ‘jump in the hole’ scene towards the end of the second act.)
Behind the doors on stage, there is a TV screen that shows the stage, so the cast can get the timing correctly when they need to open the door and re-enter the stage. Very class!
Stage looks really small when you’re on it, but it is actually bigger than it looks, without all the stage sets/background sets up.
No photography/videos were allowed, due to the copyright rights of the National Theatre, and giving away spoilers.
